Dr Chris Brooks

Chris Brooks  

Dr Brooks is an associate researcher at the University of Bristol and completed his PhD on the foraging ecology of the migratory zebra population in the Makgadikgadi Pans in 2005. He has a full professional guides licence and has been guiding within Botswana from permanent camps and as a mobile guide for 8 years. As a researcher he has a long-standing association with the University of Botswana’s Harry Oppenheimer Okavango Research Centre (HOORC) and the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP). He has extensive knowledge of the area and its seasonal  cycles  and can thus offer exceptional advice on animal movements in the area. 

Vince Shacks
Vince Shacks

Vince Shacks is a South African citizen, who moved to Botswana to complete his Masters degree through the University of Stellenbosch. Vince was based on the Panhandle of the Okavango River for two years as a full time field researcher for Earthwatch Institutes- Okavango Crocodile Research project.  Vince is currently running the Okavango Crocodile Monitoring Program in the Delta. His time in the field has lead him to be involved with various film crews assisting with logistics, consultation and location management. Vince specialises in aquatic environments and has lead charity boating expeditions into the Delta as well as advising on underwater filming projects.

Collaborators: ESA and its directors are perfectly situated in the central tourism hub of Maun. This allows the company to make use of the many resources and services available to get teams into the field quickly and efficiently. Our experience in the area has allowed us to form good relationships with charter companies, tour operators and concession managers.
